Rihanna. After her famous single Umbrella hit the airwaves, there is no
stopping the rise of the popularity of this petite girl. Her songs have

R&B queen Beyonce.
At only 21, she took home a lot of awards including Favourite Female
Artist for Soul and R&B for American Music Awards in 2007 and 2008. Her

Barbados. Her mother is an Afro-Guyanese and her father is an Irish. She
is the eldest among three kids. At the age of seven, she started
singing. By the year 2004, she caught a glimpse of the limelight and won
Miss Combermere Beauty Pageant. At 15, she belonged in a singing girl
group and by the year 2003, they started trying out in auditions. In
front of Evan Rogers, a record producer, the group did a cover of
Destiny’s Child’s Emotion and Rihanna’s talent stood out and outshone
the two girls.
By the age of 16, she moved to the United States and lived with the
Rogers. She started recording demo song and sends them to several
recording companies. Def Jam Records finally took notice of Rihanna’s
talent and invited her for an audition with Jay-Z. What follows was
signing contracts after contracts and creating hits after hits.
